SARAJEVO, March 20 (FENA) - The Agency for Gender Equality of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina strongly condemns the violence against LGBTI activists, members of the organizing committee of the BH Pride March, which happened on Saturday, March 18, in Banja Luka, in front of the Transparency International BiH premises in that city.

We consider this act of violence and intolerance towards the free expression and promotion of human rights of all citizens in society to be inadmissible, shameful and reprehensible, stated the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

They remind that, in accordance with Article 2 of the Law on Gender Equality in Bosnia and Herzegovina, discrimination based on gender and sexual orientation is prohibited and that last year the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted the Action Plan for the Improvement of Human Rights and Basic Freedoms of LGBTI Persons in Bosnia and Herzegovina which, among other things, aims to improve the cooperation of the competent authorities regarding the realization of the right to freedom of assembly.
