STOLAC, April 25 (FENA) - The Mayor of Stolac, Stjepan Bošković, at the suggestion of the Headquarters of the Civil Protection Service, has made a decision to declare a state of natural disaster caused by an earthquake in that city.
In a strong earthquake that hit Herzegovina on Friday night, one person in Stolac lost her life, and great material damage was caused to public, economic, cultural, religious, residential and other buildings.
The buildings of the Stolac Health Center, the Stolac Primary School, the Crnići Primary School, the Prenj and Hodovo Regional Schools, the religious buildings, as well as numerous other residential buildings were particularly damaged.
Most of the damage so far has been registered on older buildings, where roofs or chimneys have collapsed, with cracked walls and the like.
