SARAJEVO, June 30 (FENA) - Strengthening the fight against all forms of discrimination is the basis of any democratic society, BiH Minister for Human Rights and Refugees Miloš Lučić told FENA after the organizers announced yesterday that the second pride march in BiH should be held on August 23 in Sarajevo.

"Having in mind the epidemiological situation caused by the coronavirus, I must point out that the health of citizens and, of course, their safety are in the first place. If the situation with coronavirus is under control and the number of infected is declining, and public gatherings are allowed, I hope that in that case the parade will be held, and that everything will pass without incident, as was the case last year," he said.

Lučić emphasizes the issue that the protection of human rights and the improvement of the position of the LGBT population is very important as well as their right to freedom of expression and therefore their discrimination on any grounds is unacceptable.

“We all have the right to personal choice and orientation. Strengthening the fight against all types of discrimination and raising awareness of the need to respect all persons regardless of their identity and commitment is the basis of any democratic society and we should strive for that,” concluded the Minister of Human Rights and Refugees of BiH.
