SARAJEVO, April 14 (FENA) - FBiH Minister of Labor and Social Policy Vesko Drljača said today that the complexity of the situation caused by the coronavirus pandemic is directing the activities of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina primarily in terms of protecting the health of citizens.

He recalled that the FBiH Government received praise from the World Health Organization (WHO) that stressed that the Government has achieved good results with timely measures to stop the pandemic, but also to stabilize the economy.

"Payment of pensions as well as benefits for social categories that are allocated from the budget will be paid in due time regardless of the existing economic consequences due to the pandemic," said Drljača.

He says they are aware of the fact that, despite the adopted measures, a significant number of workers will be laid off, which is a matter that will have to be addressed as a matter of priority, and all efforts are already being invested to reduce the economic impact and to recover the economy.

According to data from the FBiH Tax Administration, from March 16 to the present day, the number of employed workers in the FBiH in this period decreased by 19,861.
