Migrants are still in Vučjak, but they start accepting meals

BIHAĆ, December 9 (FENA) - The announced relocation of migrants from the temporary camp in Vučjak has not yet begun, and there is no official information on when these people will be relocated to the Ušivak and Salakovac reception centers.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Una-Sana Canton (MoI USC) confirmed that no request for support from local police forces had arrived this morning.

“We still haven't received any request or order. We suspect that we will encounter some resistance from migrants who do not wish to return to Sarajevo or elsewhere. However, it is in interest of everyone in BiH to solve this situation in Vučjak and end this months-long embarrassment,” said USC Interior Minister Nermin Kljajić.

Migrants accommodated in Vučjak have been accepting meals offered by the Bihać Red Cross and cantonal organizations since Saturday.

“They refused to take meals last week and went on a hunger strike, but it is not case anymore so we shared them meals. We will continue to do our job and assist members of the USC MoI until this camp is finally closed,” said Selam Midžić from the Red Cross of the City of Bihać.

Although not everything is ready for the announced relocation of migrants from Vučjak to reception centers outside the USC, it is expected that this will happen very soon.
