TARČIN, May 23 (FENA) - The concession contract for the construction and use of the wind farm "Ivan Sedlo-Hadžići" with 12 wind turbines of 2.1 MW installed capacity each, today in Tarčin was signed by the Minister of Economy of Canton Sarajevo Muharem Šabić and Chief Executive Officer of Suzlon Wind Energy A/S Erik Winther Pedersen.
The Sarajevo Canton gave the company Suzlon Wind Energy BH a concession for 30 years, and the value of the project is 58,674,900 KM.
“This is the biggest concession ever given in the Sarajevo Canton,” Minister Šabić said, adding that he will continue to create a favorable business environment, which implies better administration in order for investors to have quicker access and legal security for investments.
He stressed that the local community and the Sarajevo Canton would have significant benefits from the wind farm, as 60% of the concessions fee will go into the municipal government budget, while 40% will be directed into the cantonal budget.
What is to come is, as explained by Mr. Winther Pedersen, the acquiring of building permits, after which engineering works, soil testing, construction of access roads will begin.
"We will work on creating new jobs, we will work to have people live near the wind farm," Mr. Winther Pedersen said, adding that this is also an environmentally friendly project, and the location is suitable for the construction of a wind farm because the average wind speed is 7.7 m/s.
