First collective environmental lawsuit filed in Bosnia and Herzegovina

GORAŽDE, April 17 (FENA) – After years of struggle by residents of the Glamoč settlement against alleged illegalities related to the 'Trešnjica' landfill project, a lawsuit to protect the collective interests and rights of residents has been initiated at the request of the Aarhus Center in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This is the first lawsuit of its kind in Bosnia and Herzegovina aimed at protecting the environment and human rights in the context of the potential impact of a landfill, to be conducted as civil litigation with claims for financial compensation.
