SARAJEVO, November 7 (FENA) – Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Zvizdić, stated regarding the remarks made by Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó that the Hungarian minister's frequent and biased interference in Bosnia and Herzegovina's internal affairs, as well as his unfounded commentary on judicial proceedings and political processes in the country, must stop.

''Szijjártó should know, as every diplomatic beginner does, that the principles and norms of inter-state relations were defined by the Helsinki Conference, one of the most important being the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of other states. This principle clearly defines that participating states shall refrain from any form of intervention, direct or indirect, individual or collective, in the internal or external affairs that fall under the domestic jurisdiction of another participating state, regardless of their mutual relations,'' Zvizdić emphasized.

According to Zvizdić, a particular problem lies in Szijjártó’s lack of understanding of the political situation and socio-political relations in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is why ''the only criterion in his reactions is an apologetic defense of Dodik’s unconstitutional and anti-state activities''.

''One of the best examples of this is Szijjártó’s latest, completely unfounded and false claim that the charges against Milorad Dodik have proven to be baseless because BiH authorities allegedly had to suspend further proceedings against the former president of Republika Srpska,'' Zvizdić stated in a release from his office.

He reminded Minister Szijjártó that the Prosecutor's Office of BiH issued a decision not to investigate because Dodik’s unconstitutional laws, through which he attempted, via the RS National Assembly, to unilaterally withdraw the Republika Srpska entity from the constitutional, legal, and institutional framework of the state, were annulled by the Constitutional Court of BiH, and subsequently formally repealed by the RS National Assembly itself.

Zvizdić added that the charges against Dodik were not proven unfounded, but rather that Dodik capitulated before the power and authority of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s state institutions, including the Constitutional Court, with the help of those who support the preservation of the country’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, Constitution, peace, and stability.

''Finally, Minister, bearing in mind the decades-long ties between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Hungary in the political, cultural, economic, and social spheres, I believe that your attitude toward Bosnia and Herzegovina should, instead of being based on unfounded denial of legal and political facts, be grounded in the promotion of inter-state and regional cooperation founded on mutual respect, equality, democratic principles, European values, the rule of law, and prosperity,'' Zvizdić concluded.

He added that 'we in Bosnia and Herzegovina want the rule of law, not the rule of autocrats'.
