SARAJEVO, November 5 (FENA) – A delegation of six members of the European Parliament’s Committee on Constitutional Affairs (AFCO) will visit Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, from Wednesday, November 5 to Friday, November 7, 2025, to meet with representatives of key institutions and stakeholders to discuss constitutional reform, democratic governance, and the country’s path toward European Union membership.
The delegation is led by Adrián Vázquez Lázara (EPP, Spain) and includes Loránt Vincze (EPP, Romania), Marc Angel (S&D, Luxembourg), Vytenis Povilas Andriukaitis (S&D, Lithuania), Marieke Ehlers (PfE, the Netherlands), and Nikolas Farantouris (The Left, Greece).
During their stay in Sarajevo, the MEPs plan to hold a series of meetings with representatives of the Presidency of BiH, the Ministry of Justice, the Collegium of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH and members of its Constitutional and Legal Affairs Committees, as well as with the leadership of the Constitutional Court, the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council, the Directorate for European Integration, the Central Election Commission, civil society organizations, research institutions, international organizations, and ambassadors of EU member states.
In October 2025, the European Parliament reviewed the institutional challenges arising from the current geopolitical context and future EU enlargements, concluding that the enlargement process and institutional reforms must advance in parallel.
