SARAJEVO, July 7 (FENA) - The Social Democratic Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina (SDP) welcomed last night's adoption of a set of energy laws in the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and thanked all the representatives who put the interests of citizens first, instead of personal self-promotion and using the parliamentary platform for the worst kind of populism.
The SDP reminded that the adoption of the Law on Energy and Regulation of Energy Activities in the FBiH, the Law on Electricity in the FBiH, and the Law on the Use of Renewable Energy Sources is one of the priorities for speeding up Bosnia and Herzegovina's path towards the European Union.
"In addition to the part that is important for European integration, we must not forget the direct interest of the citizens, in the context of the future energy policy of the FBiH, especially in the time of the energy crisis, but also the general trend of decarbonization," the SDP stated.
International partners have already spoken positively about the voted law, they added. They believe that the adoption of these laws also has a wider strategic significance for bringing the EU closer together and ensuring further support in all fields.
The SDP BiH strongly condemns all threats of force addressed to the leaders of the House of Representatives at the end of last night's session, the SDP announced.
