SARAJEVO, July 5 (FENA) - The High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina (HJPC BiH) has scheduled a regular session for today and tomorrow at which, among other things, the Information on the Opinion on the Draft Law on Amendments to the Criminal Code of the entity of RS should be considered.
The HJPC will discuss the Opinion adopted by the HJPC BiH by telephone/electronic vote on June 23, and given that the opinion on the aforementioned draft law was postponed at a regular session of the HJPC of BiH from June 14.
We remind the public that the above-mentioned draft law was adopted by the National Assembly of the RS at its session on March 23, and with it, among other things, it introduces criminal offenses - against honor and reputation, that is, criminal offenses of insult and slander, which has been labeled in the public as the criminalization of slander and insult and the abolition of media freedoms and freedom of speech.
