SEF: BiH and the entire region have enormous potential in renewable energy sources

SEF is organized by the Solar Academy Foundation and partners, the sponsor of SEF 2023 is the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the institutional partners are entity ministries and the Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The transition to renewable energy sources, as Senad Šepić stated on behalf of the organizers, is crucial for the sustainable future of the planet, and the energy forum will focus on this very topic.

"Bosnia and Herzegovina and the entire region have enormous potential in renewable energy sources, and what we need to improve are the legal regulations and bringing the economy closer to everything that is the legislative framework. With experts from the whole region, we will talk about fulfilling the conditions regarding decarbonization, how to solve the issue of building the capacity of networks, especially transmission ones, and how to ensure that we can place the energy that we can produce in BiH and the region on the global market in the best possible way," said Šepić before the opening of SEF.

He added that as part of SEF, there will be ten panels, five lectures and presentations, and more than 75 people will talk about current topics during three days in Sarajevo.

In his opening address, the President of the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH, Zdravko Marinković, emphasized the importance of cooperation between authorities, decision-makers, and professionals and recognition of what Bosnia and Herzegovina and its market needs and what will be important to it in the future.

"Only with everyone's synergy can we create a successful business environment, which is a prerequisite for sustainable development," said Marinković.
