SARAJEVO, June 18 (FENA) - The Federal News Agency (FENA) is organizing a conference 'Media Innovation and Trends' in Sarajevo on Monday, June 26, the focus of which will be media freedom and shaping the future of media in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Media professionals, representatives of the academic community, journalists' associations and regulatory bodies will discuss current issues that affect the present and future of the media in BiH at several panels. FENA's General Manager, Elmir Huremović, pointed out that there are several reasons for organizing such a gathering. He also said that FENA, as a responsible public media and leading news agency in Bosnia and Herzegovina, has decided to start a broader discussion on topics important to the media and society as a whole.
"Through our media work and constant communication with colleagues from other European agencies, we have noticed the need to open a discussion within the public space of BiH about the challenges that BiH media are facing, but the society as a whole too. From freedom of speech, the fight against hate speech, social responsibility of media, and copyright protection for media and journalists to challenges brought by the development of artificial intelligence, these are all issues that the media community in BiH and the world are facing. That is why we are happy that many relevant participants from Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as our colleagues from the European Alliance of News Agencies accepted our invitation to the conference," Huremović stated.
