Sarajevo marks Europe Day with a reception and concert in front of the Eternal Flame Memorial

SARAJEVO, May 10 (FENA) - Head of the EU Delegation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the EU Special Representative, Johann Sattler, addressed the gathered at the reception on the occasion of the Europe Day on Tuesday evening in Sarajevo.

This year, Bosnia and Herzegovina celebrates its first Europe Day as a candidate country for membership in the European Union. Activities throughout BiH celebrate, together with the citizens of BiH, the wealth of culture, tradition, heritage of our continent, as well as common goals to improve the quality of life of citizens throughout Europe.

The reception held in the building near the Eternal Flame, the new Europe House, and was attended by FBiH Prime Minister Nermin Nikšić, Mayor of Sarajevo Benjamina Karić and numerous dignitaries from various spheres of life.

Afterwards, a series of BiH artists performed in front of the Eternal Fire. The concert 'Always in the heart of Europe' started with the famous Eurovision song "Pokušaj" performed by Laka and Lela.

Head of the EU Delegation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Johann Sattler, said that Sarajevo is becoming a more beautiful and better city every day, and congratulated all citizens on Europe Day.

Sarajevo Mayor Benjamina Karić also congratulated the Europe Day and Victory Day at the concert, after which the concert continued.
