SARAJEVO, April 7 (FENA) - The European Movement in Bosnia and Herzegovina presented plaques to the Association Pomozi.ba and the Mountain Rescue Service of FBiH (FBiH GSS) for their assistance to the population of Turkey and Syria after the catastrophic earthquakes that hit that region.
President of the European Movement, Predrag Praštalo, said that the suffering and destruction in the earthquakes were enormous, but that BiH, thanks to the Pomozi.ba Association and the Mountain Rescue Service showed that it is a true partner and friend to the people of Turkey and Syria.
“We showed that, in spite of our problems, we did not hesitate when it was necessary to help these countries that had tens of thousands of victims in that disaster,” added Praštalo.
Maja Arslanagić from the humanitarian organization Pomozi.ba thanked for the recognition and pointed out that it will encourage them to work harder and better.
Senad Kovačević from GSS said that they were honored but also that they were surprised that someone remembered them and said that they will try to continue to do the best they can and save people's lives.
The recognitions were supported by the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. FBiH Minister of Labor and Social Policy Vesko Drljača and the Secretary of the Turkish Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina presented the recognitions along with Praštalo.
