BANJA LUKA, March 16 (FENA) – The first part of the second regular session of the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska (RSNA) has ended, and the Draft Law on the criminalization of defamation will be on the agenda for the continuation of this session on March 21.

The draft law on amendments to the Criminal Code of the RS, colloquially called the 'law on the criminalization of defamation', treats defamation and insult as criminal offenses and announces high fines for violators, according to the information published so far.

In the previous part of the session, the Assembly adopted, among other acts, the Work Program for this year, the Law on a special register of persons legally convicted of criminal acts of sexual abuse and exploitation of children, and the Law on Amendments to the Law on the Fund for Development and Employment of the Republika Srpska.

Both of the aforementioned laws were adopted under an urgent procedure.
