SARAJEVO, December 1 (FENA) - The German Organization for Technical Cooperation - GIZ, within the Green Recovery component of the "Covid-19 investment Response" project, which is financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, today organized a conference in Sarajevo titled "Green transition of small and medium enterprises in Bosnia and Herzegovina".
At the conference, the activities of the Green Recovery component were officially presented, as well as the signed agreements on grant funds with six BiH. company in the metal and wood sector, which in the next 12 months will work on the introduction and implementation of green business models in its production processes.
The aim of the support is for companies to adapt more quickly and efficiently to current and future environmental requirements, especially in their export markets in the European Union, and to influence the increase in production efficiency, the preservation of existing jobs and the creation of new jobs through investment in green transformation and the creation of green skills.
The President of the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH, Zdravko Marinković, said that there is very little awareness in BiH when it comes to the green economy and what it means.
The manager of the Green Recovery component, Adrijana Marić, said that the goal of this component is to strengthen the capacities of both private and public stakeholders and to support the green transformation in the metal and wood sectors.
