MOSTAR, October 16 (FENA) – President of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Committee of the International Council for Large Electric Systems (CIGRE) Edhem Bičakčić said that in 2023, Bosnia and Herzegovina will face the harmonization of electricity prices with he market.
“Bosnia and Herzegovina has sufficient capacity to produce electricity for all its needs, including increased use of electricity for heating. For this year, it is also the most profitable, but it will not be able to stay that way in the long run. Market trends will have to be followed, because the export (of electricity) will be replaced by domestic consumption that is not regulated by tariffs,” Bičakčić said in an interview with FENA ahead of the opening of the Third Consultation of the Bosnia and Herzegovina branch of the CIRED International Conference on Electricity Distribution.
Bičakčić added that this necessarily leads to the harmonization of electricity prices with the market.
According to Drago Baga, president of the Bosnia and Herzegovina branch of CIRED, more than 60 papers from 140 domestic and foreign authors will be presented at the Mostar conference. These scientific and professional works will deal with topics related to the distribution network, smart grid, distributed sources of electricity and market development.
