SARAJEVO, September 25 (FENA) – Franciscan Theology in Sarajevo, one of the oldest educational institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, opened its doors yesterday to numerous dignitaries, including representatives of the cantonal, city and municipal authorities in Sarajevo, to mark a significant event together.
Thanks to donors from Switzerland and the help of the Government of the Sarajevo Canton and the City of Sarajevo, after many years, the amphitheater in the building that was completely devastated during the war was renovated.
Professor and economist at the Franciscan Theology, Fr. Emanuel Josić, on behalf of the host, thanked the ministers in the Sarajevo Canton Government, Samir Avdić and Enver Hadžiahmetović, who, after a number of years, recognized the importance of the renovation project and allocated significant funds for the completion of this project, and also helped in repairing the building's roof, which had been leaking for years.
He also thanked the City of Sarajevo, led by Mayor Benjamina Karić and City Council Chairman Jasmin Ademović, who, among others, addressed the gathering.
He emphasized the importance of Franciscan Theology as well as "pride in the Franciscan Province of Bosna Srebrena and our Bosnian Franciscans, the indispensable connective tissue of Bosnia and Herzegovina, its guardians and guardians of all nations and citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina".
