SARAJEVO, August 15 (FENA) - The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued a first-instance verdict sentencing Dušan Ćulibrk to 20 years in prison for crimes committed in the summer of 1992 in the area of Bosanska Krupa, that is, for participating in the murders of 51 civilians from the area of Prijedor.
Ćulibrk is accused of having, as a member of the reserve police force of the Public Security Station (SJB) Bosanska Krupa, in July 1992, participated in the abduction and then the murders of 44 detainees from the Omarska camp in Donji Dubovik. He is also accused of murdering seven civilians of Bosniak nationality who were moving from the direction of Prijedor towards Bihać.
Ćulibrk did not appear at the sentencing, and the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina ordered his detention as of today, Detektor reports.
There is a possibility of appeal against this verdict.
