SARAJEVO, July 28 (FENA) - FBiH Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry Nermin Džindić said that the Government of FBiH today made a decision on assistance or subsidies for electricity bills for socially vulnerable categories of the population.

The minister noted that last week meetings were held with the directors of Elektroprivreda Sarajevo and Elektroprivreda HZHB, with which several models of operation were considered, and in the end a decision was made to use the model from 2011, which is the easiest to implement.

“The Government of FBiH today made a decision by which approximately 70,000 beneficiaries will be allocated 20 KM each in the next five months, which is a direct measure of 100 KM per family for this period. The measure from 2011 of plus five KM, i.e. plus seven related to Elektroprivreda HZHB, which will not be canceled even after the expiration of five months, remains in force,” pointed out Džindić.

He points out that both electricity companies have allocated about ten million KM for this purpose, and that the same model was offered to the Sarajevo Canton Government for subsidizing gas for the citizens of Sarajevo Canton, given that 80 percent of gas is used in this canton.
