SARAJEVO, April 14 (FENA) - The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted today, at the request of Energoinvest d.d. Sarajevo, the decision to increase the price of natural gas by 21.7 percent.
As the FBiH Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry Nermin Džindić explained at the press conference, such a government decision was preceded by the consent of the Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry sent to the FBiH Ministry of Trade, which is the official processor.
He reminded that Energoinvest has a contract with Gazprom and there was an increase in the price from Gazprom to Energoinvest as the only supplier in the Federation of BiH by 21.7 percent.
Director of Energoinvest Bisera Hadžialjević said that the increase in gas prices was expected given all the increases in recent months, and reminded that the quarterly gas price is determined on the basis of the existing long-term contract.
During the coronavirus pandemic, there was a significant reduction in the price of gas because oil, petroleum products and gas were not consumed in the expected quantities, while the price of oil has increased by 44 percent in the last three months.
These gas prices, which refer to distributors, will be valid for three months, and all increases and shifts in oil and what affects the price will have no effect for the next three months, while the next price is expected on July 1, Hadžialjević concluded.
