SARAJEVO, May 8 (FENA) - Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Nermin Nikšić and Federal Minister of Refugees and Displaced Persons Nerin Dizdar met today at the seat of the Federal Government in Sarajevo with the Minister of Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina Sevlid Hurtić.
The topic of the meeting was priorities in future cooperation, the top of which are the current plans to complete the process of closing collective centers and alternative accommodation in BiH, and Prime Minister Nikšić expressed his full support for this process.
- I want these projects to be brought to an end so that all people who are still in such accommodations can finally have a normal life and status. The Government of the Federation will support everything that needs to be done in that process, especially when it comes to projects that are implemented through state institutions - said Nikšić.
Minister Hurtić specified that they are now working on the CEB 3 project, which implies the continuation of the credit arrangement with the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB) on favorable terms and with a grace period.
By the way, the CEB project is one of the more successful, intended for providing housing for the most vulnerable categories of the BiH population and is financed from credit funds. By the end of last year, the Federal Ministry for Displaced Persons and Refugees contracted the construction or reconstruction of 1,857 housing units.
- According to estimates, 271 housing units in 14 local communities need to be completed in the territory of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. These are targeted funds for the consumption of which we will introduce special monitoring. This project should close all collective centers and alternative accommodation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The state signs the international loan agreement and is practically the guarantor, and the entities, on the basis of subsidiary agreements, return the debt in the ratio of how much they borrow, that is, how many funds they withdraw - explained Hurtić.
Federal Minister Dizdar emphasized the previous engagement of the Federal Ministry of Displaced Persons and Refugees, which is the implementer of this project in the Federation, and provided support for the closure of collective centers and alternative accommodation in BiH, the FBiH Government Office for Public Relations announced.
