SARAJEVO, January 27 (FENA) - BiH Presidency member Šefik Džaferović sent a message on the occasion of January 27, International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
In his address, Džaferović stressed that we must never forget the terrifying death industry organized by the Nazi regime guided by its dark ideas of racial superiority, blood and soil.
“Today is the International Holocaust Remembrance Day, which is marked in memory of January 27, 1945, when the Auschwitz camp was liberated. The names of criminals and their atrocities should be remembered only so that the spread of their ideas will never be allowed again. No one has the right to glorify criminals, nor to deny the truth about crimes, because revisionism is hate speech, not freedom of speech,” said a member of the Presidency of BiH.
He points out that the voice of the surviving victims still warns us of what happens when the dark shadow of evil looms over humanity, and that the memory of the six million Jews killed is a terrible warning to humanity and a reminder of what happens when the world recedes and gives in to regimes that, for their political goals, are willing to commit genocide and extermination.
“The memory of the victims of the Holocaust obliges us to fight against anti-Semitism and fight to defend the values of civilization, which are based on fundamental respect for human life and dignity, and freedom and equality of all people. I am joining the #WeRemember campaign initiated by the World Jewish Congress in order to preserve the memory of the victims of the Holocaust,” concluded Džaferović.
