SARAJEVO, November 5 (FENA) - The Prime Minister of the Sarajevo Canton, Edin Forto, assessed that the situation in the capital of BiH is serious due to heavy precipitation in the last 24 hours, but that it is under control, and called on the citizens to reduce the movement to the necessary minimum.

He pointed out that the Government of the SC held an emergency session today and adopted a series of conclusions in order to solve the accumulated problems.

Among other things, he said that the Government had instructed the Civil Protection Service to initiate all measures prescribed in the Active Flood Defense Plans and to go to the designated areas with all human resources and equipment and take all necessary measures.

He also pointed out that the government ordered all ministries to stop the work of schools, kindergartens and other public institutions in flooded and risky areas, if necessary, and stressed that three schools have already been closed.

The Minister of Transport of the canton, Adnan Šteta, emphasized that the traffic is heavily impeded, and that a large number of roads are flooded, especially in the areas of Ilidža, Novi Grad, Ilijaš and Trnovo, and that they are working on mitigating those problems.

"Due to the frequent power outages, it is difficult to establish public transport, because the traffic lights do not work. The teams are on the ground," he said.

The Minister of Internal Affairs, Admir Katica, said that the police regulate the traffic on the most frequent roads.
