Izetbegović: Partition of Bosnia and Herzegovina is not possible

FENA Muhamed Hadžibegić

SARAJEVO, October 19 (FENA) - President of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) Bakir Izetbegović said today in Sarajevo that it was agreed to do everything to preserve peace and stability in BiH a meeting held today with the President of the Croat Democratic Union (HDZ BiH) Dragan Čović.

He added that there is a possibility that the "Croatian side might benefit from the pressure created to speed up solutions to the election law, but that Čović and other serious Croat politicians do not intend to enter into some bad scenarios."

Izetbegović pointed out that the partition of Bosnia and Herzegovina is something impossible, but that he cannot predict what certain politicians like Milorad Dodik would do and whether they will make decisions that have a basis in the law.

"The RS National Assembly will probably reluctantly follow Dodik as we see strong resistance within the political parties in the RS," said Izetbegović and added that he does not expect any real consequences.
