SARAJEVO, October 12 (FENA) - A trade envoy of the British Prime Minister for the Western Balkans and member of the British Parliament Martin Vickers, accompanied by the British Ambassador to BiH Matt Field, visited the company Eastern Mining in Vareš today, where the hosts presented the progress made with this largest investment in the field of mining in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The General Manager of Eastern Mining, Adnan Teletović, informed the delegation about the direct and indirect benefits of this mining project for the Vareš region, but also the entire country, emphasizing the need for foreign investments of this type to be a pillar of future investments.
"The Vareš mining plant is a perfect example of what foreign investments in this case from Great Britain, but also from other countries, combined with the experience of domestic labor, can do for one town and the entire country," said Teletović.
The Vareš mining project is a significant investment by the United Kingdom in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which uses British skills, experience and market knowledge.
"I have carefully followed the development of this project and I am satisfied with the achieved results that are already visible in the Vareš area. The Vareš mining project is an example of how the relationship between a foreign investor, local authorities and the local community can be developed and maintained at the same time adhering to the highest environmental and social standards," said British Ambassador Matt Field.
An envoy of the British Prime Minister Martin Vickers said that during today's visit to Eastern Mining that he saw a positive example of cooperation between the two countries, which benefits all parties involved in this project.
"I am sure that with the appropriate regulations and with additional efforts on both sides, both investors and the government, this is just the beginning of greater and more fruitful cooperation in many fields," said the trade envoy of the British Prime Minister Martin Vickers.
Eastern Mining has a concession for ore exploration and exploitation in Vareš. The British company started research in this field in 2017, focusing on mineral ores with the intention of reviving the mining industry in this area. The company's intention is to start modernized ore production, with the export of base and precious metal concentrates worldwide.
