UNFPA - "12 Days of Activism" to promote peace

SARAJEVO, October 2 (FENA) - Within 12 days of activism, a number of activities are taking place to emphasize the importance of regular joint action to promote peace in the period of September 21 - International Day of Peace and October 2- International Day of Non-violence, linking two significant dates, which was launched by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) with the support of the UK Embassy, in cooperation with partners in the country and the region, the UNFPA stated.

The vision of "12 Days of Activism" is for citizens to strengthen mutual relations, participate in constructive dialogues and support efforts to bring together divided communities, in the interest of establishing stable and peaceful coexistence.

British Ambassador Matthew Field stressed that the UK Government is committed to stability and prosperity in the region as well as in BiH, reiterating that only by working together, with mutual dialogue and appreciation, we can address open issues and challenges we face. In addition, Ambassador Field emphasized that BiH is a perfect example of working together to promote peace through activism of young people, especially women.
