BANOVIĆI, September 15 (FENA) - Federal Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry Nermin Džindić visited the Banovići Brown Coal Mine this morning and talked to the entire management of the Company about how to end the current business year with as few problems as possible, since there was a fire in mining pit.
According to Džindić, the management informed him that the fire had been extinguished, as well as that the consequences were being repaired.
"We expect that by November 1, the first tons will be extracted from the underground exploitation, and thus we expect a financial recovery, considering that most of the quality coal is there," said the Minister.
They also discussed credit arrangements, borrowings through the Development Bank and other banks, and it was agreed to make a quality analysis in the next ten days with the help of people from the Government of the Federation of BiH about the production equipment necessary to continue the production process.
"In any case, what we saw today is optimistic, a lot of negative things that happened in the previous period have been remedied; we also see the percentage of investment, procedure and process of procurement of spare parts, etc. We hope that this trend of home management will continue, that is, that the business year will end the way professionals do," concluded Džindić.
According to the statement of the director of the Company, Elvir Salihović, at the meeting with Džindić, a whole set of questions was opened that refer to crucial problems in the company, which is in the phase of stabilizing business, implementing a set of measures.
"The most important thing to point out, and it is of crucial importance to us, is to start pit production, that is, to put the pit organizational unit into function," he said.
The Director expressed satisfaction with the understanding of Minister Džindić and added that steps have been agreed for the next period that should have positive results, where the FBiH Government and Minister Džindić will provide full support with certain measures.
