Džindić: Law on public-private partnership important for increasing investments

FENA

SARAJEVO, November 18 (FENA) - FBiH Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry Nermin Džindić said that the Government of the Federation of BiH supported the preliminary draft law on public-private partnership at today's session, which defines public-private partnership as a long-term partnership between public and the private sector.

“This is a strategically important law for increasing investments and for a new relationship between public and private partnership within the Federation of BiH. This law was supposed to be passed at the state level, but since there were no harmonized agreements, an inter-ministerial working commission was formed, headed by the FBiH Ministry of Energy, Industry and Mining. We used all eminent experts from these areas and we came to the preliminary draft law, which was supported by the Government at today's session and which we will forward to the regular procedure,” said Džindić.

The said law prescribes two forms of public-private partnership. It is a contractual form and a status form of public-private partnership.

“The public debate showed where certain corrections should be made. We accepted everything that was logical,” Džindić added at the press conference after today's session of the FBiH Government.
