SARAJEVO, December 3 (FENA) - On the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the Coordination Board of the Association of Persons with Disabilities of the Sarajevo Canton, the Ministry of Labor, Social Policy, Displaced Persons and Refugees Sarajevo Canton and the organization "MyRight" organized a reception in Sarajevo today to raise awareness of the problem that persons with disabilities face on a daily basis.
Jasminka Proho, a representative of the Coordinating Committee of the Association of Persons with Disabilities of the Sarajevo Canton and the President of the Committee for Inclusive Education of the Sarajevo Canton said that today's motto of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities is building a better society, a society that is accessible, sustainable.
“It turned out in fact that more work needs to be done on education, professional development of teachers. That when some solutions are made, people with disabilities who have gone through this type of education must be asked because they know best what needs to be done in order for that education to be completely high quality and inclusive,” Proho pointed out.
Nadina Imamović, President of the Active/Committee of Young Persons with Disabilities, said at today's meeting that it is important to motivate as many young people as possible, to get involved in the work of organizations advocating for the rights of persons with disabilities, because only together can we overcome barriers that we face in our society.
