PALE, August 17 (FENA) - The Serb Democratic Party (SDS) and the Party of Democratic Progress (PDP) in the city of East Sarajevo and six of its municipalities will offer joint candidates for the mayor and six joint municipal mayor candidates. The joint candidate for the mayor will be Miroslav Lučić from the SDS, while the candidate for the municipal mayor of Pale will be Nenad Vuković from the PDP, it was announced today at a press conference in Pale.
The SDS President Mirko Šarović said that East Sarajevo is a very important community for the SDS and that the SDS committees in this city are among the strongest in the Republika Srpska.
"The SDS expects great success in the upcoming elections. In East Sarajevo, the coalition agreement between the SDS and the PDP was given priority, and we provide sincere support to each other in each and every municipality. Candidates from all six city municipalities and the city of East Sarajevo are with us today and we expect good results," Šarović added.
The PDP President Branislav Borenović said that "the presentation of the candidates in East Sarajevo carries a great symbolism because the agreement was reached in the place where the Republika Srpska was established," the SDS said.
