BANJA LUKA, April 22 (FENA) - A new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) has been confirmed in 16 people in Republika Srpska (RS) and currently a total of 580 people are infected, 19 persons passed away while 306 have been recovered, Ministry of Health and Social Welfare announced.
Five people are from Gacko, three from Oštra Luka, two from Banja Luka, Gradiška and Trebinje and one from Nevesinje and Pale.
Most people have been identified as having close or family contact with people who have been previously confirmed with coronavirus or their secondary contact.
One beneficiary of a privately owned nursing home is also infected with coronavirus in Banja Luka, where a coronavirus test was previously confirmed with one worker.
Another 25 beneficiaries from this nursing home were tested negative for the new virus. So far, all users and employees of this institution have been tested.
In the past 24 hours, 281 laboratory samples were tested at the Institute of Public Health of the RS, and another 29 people working and staying in nursing homes, two health workers and 18 market workers were tested. 37 people from local quarantines or isolation facilities were also tested.
All of these samples came back negative (SARS-CoV-2), stated the RS Ministry of Health and Social Welfare.
