SARAJEVO, April 6 (FENA) - Vice President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Melika Mahmutbegović extended congratulations today to Mayor Abdulah Skaka, the City Council Chairman, Igor Gavrić, and all citizens of Sarajevo on the occasion of April 6- the Day of the City.
She recalled the extraordinary importance that April 6 - Sarajevo City Day has had, not only in the history of the capital, a true jewel of world civilization but of the importance it has for the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
She stated that April 6 is the day when Sarajevo remembers not only the final liberation from the fascist occupiers in 1945, but also the day when the aggression against BiH officially began in 1992, and that these two events present us with a great and strong symbolism of determination of the citizens of Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina to resist any fascism and any occupier, regardless of their strength and superiority.
"These are the truths we must remember, and draw key messages from them in these days full of challenges when different battles are fought, but equally important for the survival of our citizens and the stability of our country during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Today, Sarajevo and BiH defend themselves with self-discipline, responsibility towards one another, respect for prescribed measures, knowledge and professionalism, solidarity and willingness for self- restraint," stated the FBiH Vice President Melika Mahmutbegović in her congratulations.
