MOSTAR, April 1 (FENA) - Director of the Public Health Institute of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton and a member of the cantonal Crisis Staff, Dr. Nermin Avdić said that the foci points of Covid-19 in Mostar and Konjic have been placed under control to a certain extent in recent days, but the situation in Čitluk, where the first cases of infection have been confirmed in recent days, is worrying.
"We have seen a rise in the number of patients in Čitluk, and for the last two days, we have been focused on the situation in this town. In Čitluk, the situation is alarming because we have 23 nuns in the monastery, most of whom show symptoms and some are hospitalized," said Dr. Avdić.
The monastery has been placed under quarantine, as well as the "Mother's Village" where the nuns from the monastery used to come, and Dr. Avdić warned that a large number of contacts had been made before confirming the first case of coronavirus in Čitluk, so he once again called for urgent self-isolation by all those who suspect that they were in contact with persons from these two institutions.
In the past 24 hours, nine new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in the HNC area, five in Čitluk (all five cases are nuns from the monastery), two in Mostar and one each in Konjic and Jablanica.
