Radončić: Food and housing costs for the police covered for two more months

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, January 28 (FENA) - Upon hearing recent inquiries in the media regarding the announcement by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) that it will cease to finance the costs of housing and meals for police officers who assist the BiH Border Police in protecting the eastern border from illegal migration as of January 31, Minister of Security Fahrudin Radončić announced that at today's meeting of the IPA project Steering Committee, "Special Measures to Support the Response to the Refugee and Migrant Situation in BiH", the decision was made to continue funding in through February and March this year.

“In the meantime, efforts will be made to keep this line of support or for the BiH Council of Ministers to find adequate resources from domestic institutions in order not to reduce the already insufficient number of police officers in guarding the eastern border of BiH,” Radončić said in a statement for the media.
