SARAJEVO, November 19 (FENA) - BiH Council of Ministers Chairman Denis Zvizdić received today a delegation of the Federal Republic of Germany, led by Bundestag member and Parliamentary Secretary of State of the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Stephan Mayer, in Sarajevo. The delegation came to Bosnia and Herzegovina at the behest of German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
Chairman Zvizdić briefed members of the delegation on the current situation and existing aspects of the migrant crisis. He stressed the importance of a balanced distribution of migrants throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina with the aim of reducing pressure, primarily in the Una-Sana Canton, and stressed the need to strengthen the eastern border of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Chairman Zvizdić also stressed the importance of signing an agreement with FRONTEX and the fact that BiH does not have the capacity to be the center and meeting place for migrants in the Western Balkans.
The meeting was attended by Bundestag member and Former Federal Minister Christian Schmidt, Former Federal Minister and Former High Representative of the international community in Bosnia and Herzegovina Christian Schwarz-Schilling, Head of the Migration and Refugee Policy Department Britta Behrendt, President of Technisches Hilfswerk Albrecht Broemme, Dr. Christian Konow from Chancellor Angela Merkel's Office and Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Bosnia and Herzegovina Margret Uebber, the BiH Council of Ministers stated.
