SARAJEVO, July 26 (FENA) - The Interreligious Council in Bosnia and Herzegovina expresses concern and sharply condemns the incident in Zvornik, which took place on the night between July 24 and 25, when a group of five young men shot the fence of the Rijeka mosque in the center of Zvornik.
As reported by the IRC BiH, any attack on a religious object can be perceived as an attack on the whole community, and this issue is particularly vulnerable when a minority community is attacked in a given area.
The Majlis of the Islamic Community in Zvornik reported the incident, citing in the statement that the material damage was negligible but the fact that such incidents generally took place, hurt and pose a serious problem.
The police identified the perpetrators, and three of the five perpetrators are minors.
