SARAJEVO, July 4 (FENA) - After the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina approved the draft for negotiations for the conclusion of new interstate agreements with neighboring countries, it is quite certain that the announced plan of BHANSA on the full take-over of responsibility for providing air navigation services in the entire airspace of BiH on December 5 this year will be realized.

Director of the Agency for the Provision of Air Services of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BHANSA) Davorin Primorac emphasizes that BHANSA has agreed with all the interested parties in the process of taking over the responsibility of providing services, a transition plan for the implementation of Phase II of the air traffic management project in BiH, and now the new interstate agreements with neighboring countries will be signed as the only remaining obligation for BiH in order to take full control over the navigation within its airspace.

“We have fulfilled all other obligations, and I especially emphasize the personnel and technical equipment for taking control of our airspace.

BHANSA, together with other bodies and institutions, has invested enormous efforts over the years in order to make this goal a reality, and now we can say with complete certainty that this historic moment will happen on December 5 this year,” says Primorac.

Since 2014, BiH has been in the process of assuming responsibility over the provision of air navigation services over its territory.

At the time, it took control of the area up to 10,000 meters above sea level, while the service and control of the airspace of Bosnia and Herzegovina above this altitude continued to be provided by the providers of neighboring countries and, accordingly, they have continued to collect revenues.

In addition to other activities involving technical and personnel improvements, the fundamental precondition for the successful completion of this process is the conclusion of new interstate agreements with neighboring countries.
