BiH CoM - Harmonization of Ordinance on Raw Milk with EU regulations

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, January 30 (FENA) - The Council of Ministers of BiH at today's session adopted the Ordinance on the amendment of the Ordinance on raw milk and the Ordinance on the amendment of the Ordinance on Dairy Products and Starter Cultures for the purpose of their alignment with the European Union directives.

Amendments to the Ordinances will allow domestic producers equal treatment on the market, the BiH Council of Ministers informed today.

The CoM has adopted the documents for the purpose of harmonization of national regulations with the EU Regulation from 2013, which stipulates that the consumption milk needs to have a freezing point approximately equal to the average freezing point of raw milk recorded in the area of the collected consumption milk.

"The average point of freezing of raw milk" is defined at the national level of the Member States and is a national-level provision.
