Summer school in Mostar for Norwegian and BiH students

FENA Press release

OSLO/SARAJEVO, May 24 (FENA) - Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the Kingdom of Norway Nedim Makarević presented the Summer School for students from BiH and Norway, which is a joint project of the University of South East Norway with the University Džemal Bijedić and the University of Mostar, which lasts from May 21 to June 2.

As Ambassador Makarević told FENA, one of the goals of his mission in Norway is to encourage education, i.e. joint programs between Norway and BiH. He added that in this concrete case, there were no special prerequisites for enrollment in this school, except for the knowledge of English.

"The aim is to offer young people in a relatively short period an education on the basis of which they will receive European Credit Transaction System (ECTS) points, which are recognized at European universities," Mr. Makarević said. The students will earn 7.5 ECTS points each.

He explained that professors Lars Petter Soltvedt and Arnt Rebu will hold classes in Mostar in the field of social sciences and law and the summer school is suitable for students attending programs focused on social sciences, law, political science and education.
