Pelješac Bridge issue must be dealt with in spirit of good-neighborly relations

SARAJEVO, May 3 (FENA) - Bosnia and Herzegovina enjoys the full support of the Republic of Croatia on the path of Euro-Atlantic integration, it was emphasized during the meeting of the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bakir Izetbegović with the Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to BiH Ivan Del Vechio.

The collocutors also noted that BiH and the Republic of Croatia were friendly countries, but that there are a number of open issues whose resolution would contribute to improvement of bilateral relations.

Chairman Izetbegović pointed out that it was necessary to resolve all open issues through sincere political dialogue, but also at the level of expert interstate commissions that would offer concrete solutions. He stressed the need for this dialogue to be more intense and be conducted with a lot of mutual respect.

Mr. Izetbegović reminded Mr. Del Vechio of the previously adopted official standpoints of the BiH Presidency on the construction of the Pelješac Bridge, noting that this open issue should be resolved with talks in the spirit of good neighborly relations and with the guarantee of BiH's rights that belong to it under the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), the BiH Presidency stated.
