SARAJEVO, January 24 (FENA) - BiH Defense Minister Marina Pendeš and her associates received today the United States Ambassador to BiH Maureen E. Cormack to discuss the current issues in the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
They talked about the progress achieved in the fulfilling of requirements for activation of the NATO - MAP Action Plan, and Ms. Pendeš presented to the US Ambassador the current activities in the process of registering the military property.
Today's meeting was an opportunity to exchange other important information from the domain of other complementary areas relevant to the Euro-Atlantic integration process.
The collocutors also discussed issues related to bilateral defense cooperation with an emphasis on the implementation of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Armed Forces Modernization Plan through multi-year funding projects from the BiH Ministry of Defense budget and using funds from the FMF program, which are a donation from the United States Government.
On this occasion, Cormack expressed the commitment and strong support of the US Government for continuing reforms in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as supporting Bosnia and Herzegovina in fulfilling its obligations under the Euro-Atlantic integration process.
Ms. Cormack was also accompanied by the political-military adviser at the US Embassy to BiH, Carrie Giardino, and US Defense Attaché Brigadier, Mark M. Karas, stated the BiH MoD PR Office.
