FBiH cement plants use alternative fuels, domestic production could boost BiH economy

SARAJEVO, October 19 (FENA) - Bosnia and Herzegovina still sends most municipal waste to landfills, while two cement plants in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina imported nearly 64,000 tonnes of fuel made from processed non-hazardous waste in 2025. This raises the question of whether domestic production could reduce reliance on imports and make better use of waste that would otherwise end up in landfills.
