SARAJEVO, March 12 (FENA) – A delegation from the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Bosnia and Herzegovina, led by Ambassador Li Fan, presented Ramadan gifts to families in need in the Jarčedoli neighborhood in the Stari Grad municipality of Sarajevo, to make the days of fasting easier for them.

The Chinese Ambassador also spent a brief, friendly conversation with residents of this Sarajevo neighborhood and learned about the everyday problems they face.

The donation was delivered through the Riyasat of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Together with the Ambassador and her associates, the families were visited by Amela Brdar, an expert associate in the Office for Social Care of the Riyasat of the Islamic Community in BiH, and the local imam, Mirsad ef. Đerzić, who introduced the Chinese diplomats to details of life in that local community.

''Some of them only need a visit, just to feel that they are not alone in the world,'' said ef. Đerzić.

Ambassador Li expressed her satisfaction at the opportunity to speak with residents and to organize the traditional Ramadan gift-giving practice of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, through visits and meetings with the final recipients of the aid in their homes.

The Ambassador stated that Ramadan is a joyful, blessed, and holy month for the Muslim world, and that through this visit, the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Bosnia and Herzegovina wishes to convey warm greetings and sincere blessings from Chinese friends to the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Embassy of the People's Republic of China has been organizing charitable activities during the month of Ramadan for years. This year, however, they went a step further—visiting local communities and citizens’ homes to meet people directly and share love and blessings. In the future, they hope to strengthen cooperation and communication with the Islamic Community and other local religious and cultural organizations, improve the well-being of citizens, and promote Chinese–Bosnian religious and cultural exchange, the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in BiH announced.
