Fires remain the biggest natural threat, strengthening the civil protection system is essential

SARAJEVO, February 2 (FENA) – Forest fires remain the most serious and frequent natural threat in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and without stronger coordination, trained personnel, modern capacities, and strict implementation of procedures, there is no effective response, it was stated at a workshop on preventive measures and response to forest fires organized in Sarajevo. Domestic institutions and international partners analyzed experiences from the 2025 fire season and discussed improvements to the civil protection system.
