CoE anti-torture committee calls for zero tolerance for torture and ill-treatment of detainees

STRASBOURG, January 27 (FENA) – In a report released today, the Council of Europe's Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT) calls on the State, Entity and Cantonal levels authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina to issue a clear statement of zero tolerance for torture and ill-treatment of detainees, provide targeted training on manual control techniques, introduce audio-visual recording of all police interviews, and better regulate the use of force and the independent assessment of its proportionality.
