A capital city without a clear framework: Sarajevo in the shadow of European model cities

SARAJEVO, December 7 (FENA) – Although Sarajevo serves as the political and cultural center of Bosnia and Herzegovina, its status as the capital is not supported by an adequate administrative framework. The city is organized as a local government unit composed of four municipalities with limited powers, while urban development, communal infrastructure, and public services fall under the jurisdiction of cantonal ministries and municipalities.
