Marrone: NATO crucial for security in Western Balkans – partnership, and logistics key to defense

SARAJEVO, September 5 (FENA) – The role of NATO in the Balkans has three dimensions – membership, which brings security and stability; partnership, as cooperation with countries that are not ready or politically committed to membership; and logistics, which is crucial for collective deterrence and defense on NATO’s eastern flank, said Alessandro Marrone, Head of the “Defense, Security and Space” program at the Rome-based IAI institute, in an interview with FENA.
