SARAJEVO, November 26 (FENA) - The Federal News Agency (FENA), in partnership with the OSCE Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina, will organize a conference titled "Sustainable Media Ecosystem of the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina" on December 3 in Brčko. Representatives from the media, academia, international organizations, District authorities and local regulatory and self-regulatory bodies, will discuss the challenges and opportunities for improving the media visibility of Brčko District in the public space of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The conference is designed around two panels: "Media Image of the Brčko District of BiH – An Overview of the Current State of Media in Brčko District" and "Building a Sustainable Media Ecosystem in the Brčko District". FENA's General Manager, Elmir Huremović, stated that the conference aims to offer solutions that will make information from this part of Bosnia and Herzegovina reach the public more easily, quickly, and in greater numbers, both within Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as in neighboring countries and beyond.
"We are aware that a significant number of local media outlets currently operate in Brčko District, and several media houses have correspondents in this area. However, the fact remains that Brčko District is a special administrative unit facing specific challenges and opportunities, which also have their own media significance. We believe that insufficient attention has been paid so far to strengthening the presence of Brčko District in the media space of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and we are ready, together with other conference participants, to offer concrete solutions to improve the situation. I am confident that the key lies in the synergistic action of responsible public media, the local community, the economy, and all others who can help," Huremović pointed out.
